When choosing a Medicare Supplement plan in Arkansas, the decision often comes down to Plan G and Plan N. Both offer excellent coverage, but they function slightly differently when it comes to out-of-pocket costs.
Medicare Supplement Plan G
Plan G is currently the most comprehensive plan available for new Medicare enrollees. Once you meet the annual Part B deductible, Plan G covers 100% of your remaining Medicare-approved costs. There are no copays for doctor visits or hospital stays.
Medicare Supplement Plan N
Plan N offers lower monthly premiums than Plan G, but in exchange, you take on slightly more cost-sharing. With Plan N, after meeting the Part B deductible, you may have a copay of up to $20 for some office visits and up to $50 for emergency room visits that do not result in an inpatient admission.
Which Should You Choose?
If you prefer absolute predictability and want zero copays at the doctor, Plan G is the winner. If you are healthy, don't visit the doctor often, and want to save money on monthly premiums, Plan N is an excellent alternative.
